Circular design roadmap 2030

Reform supports the international client in shaping the «Circular Design Roadmap 2030» towards its ambitious 2030 targets and implementing the transformation process with specific coaching and competence building.

Process and services

Following an in-depth initial consultation and the analysis of existing documents, the key areas for the development of the «Circular Design Roadmap 2030» across the entire corporation were determined in close collaboration with the client. The five working sessions were specifically designed to meet the needs of the client (Head of Design Sustainability and Strategic Initiatives) and build the key elements of the roadmap in an iterative process.

As part of their quarterly «Sustainability Speaker & Training Series», we delivered a keynote on circular design to help the global design team of around 200 designers gain deeper insights, find new inspiration, and explore innovative ways to enhance their practice.

Following the keynote, we conducted an in-person workshop session titled «Circular Design as an Innovation Lens» with an interdisciplinary team at their Swiss headquarters. The workshop aimed at identifying and empowering future circular design ambassadors who can drive change within the organization. During the session, connections were fostered across different departments, pain points identified, and opportunities for advancing circular design explored.

Key areas of focus
  • Strategy and roadmap
  • Organizational development
  • Tools and innovation process
  • Competence building

Impact

The sparring and exploration resulted in a clear assessment of the organization in terms of circular design and a roadmap for implementation in the company’s daily operations and organizational culture.

The keynote on circular design helped raise awareness and deepen the understanding of circular principles among the global design team, inspiring them to consider circular design practices in their work. By reaching approximately 200 designers, the session catalyzed a broader shift in mindset, encouraging innovation and the exploration of new approaches to design with circularity at the forefront.
