Reform supports
Process and services
As partners to the Global Sustainability Director and working with the sustainability, strategy and innovation teams, Reform supported On in identifying appropriate steps on the circularity journey including overall circularity direction, internal governance, way of working and circularity priorities across business units. This included
- co-creating workshops with the innovation, design and sustainability teams to collectively assess the status quo and identify potentials
- formulating hypotheses for circularity strategies – complementing the internal view and data points with an external perspective
- helping the team make informed decisions and set the vision, ambition levels and KPIs towards 2030 – taking into account market developments and learnings from other sectors
- co-developing a narrative and decision document for the board for an ambitious circularity strategy aligned with the brand DNA
- creating a visual tool (circular product-systems map) to support the innovation and sustainability teams to identify potentials along the circular value chain, discuss tradeoffs between circular strategies based on data and a systems view
- providing a method and criteria to assess projects, collaborations and investments across geographies and business units
- connecting the team to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and industry initiatives.

Impact
The impact of the project includes alignment on an ambitious circularity strategy across the C-Level, collaboration across the sustainability, strategy and innovation teams and inspiration across On following a company-wide communication.
There is a common language on circularity across the organisation, helping to ask the right questions and collecting the needed evidence to make informed decisions.
The visual maps help identify new business opportunities and the implications on a systems level (what circularity strategies and investments are particularly impactful), and to communicate these easily across different stakeholders.
The criteria help select pilots and investments to build towards the overall «circularity goals 2030», including the innovation priorities, necessary operational backbone and infrastructure (e.g. take back channels, logistics, partnerships).

Testimonials
«We valued the iterative way of working and highly engaging workshop sessions that helped us guide through the process. Through the Circularity Compass in combination with mapping out our own circularity systems map we were able to have more structured discussion on gaps as well as opportunities in our circularity strategy.»
Begum Kürkçü, Global Director of Sustainability
«Simon and Sarra were able to help us digest the complex and diverse perspectives under the broad «circularity umbrella» which helped us create clarity and alignment on key definitions with our key internal stakeholders.»
Sammy-Jo Liefveld, Head of Sustainability Strategy
